Spring, Sprang, Sprung!

Good news. Things are getting better around here!

For those of you who are looking for foot / ankle clips for your Dollikins, they are going to be available in about a month.

I am working on getting some pictures edited to put up on our What's New page. There will be at least 2 recent doll restorations posted there sometime soon.

One is small (9") late 1800's German character doll who arrived in pieces and had a crack running from her neckline all the way down to her bottom. She was repaired as a surprise for the mother of our customer. She was also given a new set of clothes that were made custom just for her. We think she turned out wonderfully.

There are 2 dolls currently in our hospital and spa that are also of the same vintage. Porcelain heads with composition and wood bodies, and little in the way of clothing.

One is in especially bad condition, and we consider her a challenge that will reap a great reward once she is restored. The reward is not monetary. It is the satisfaction of bringing a doll who was literally on her way to the trash, back to life. Stay Tuned.

Behind those 2 beauties, are 3 Uneeda dollikins. One is in rough shape and the other 2 need a little help and new wardrobes.

The one big thing all of these dolls have in common is that when they arrived, they were all very dirty. When people ask what we use to clean these dolls, we share 2 things:

1.) Carol's Doll cleaner. We do not make or sell this cleaner- but Carol does on eBay. It is a good investment as it safely cleans most doll surfaces.

2.) Be very careful when you clean your dolls!

Sounds simple enough, but we have seen things done to dolls in the name of cleaning that should not happen to any doll.

Lastly, our dear Zelda asked for a new office look, and she has been given a new outfit to reflect her position in the business. Be on the look out for new photos of her coming soon to our About Us page.

Cheers!

Oh Dear. It is indeed the end of March.

We have been through a lot, but we are still here.

I will post more later...perhaps this evening.

Some Things Are Not Fun

At holiday time we like to think of things that are fun and touching and sweet. At least I do.

Sometimes things happen that make it difficult to get in the mood for anything fun at all. Things like cancer. My Beloved has been diagnosed with this dread disease and it has taken up most of our waking hours with its sinister package of doctor appointments, lab appointments and soon to be treatment appointments not to mention the price tag.

So, here is something fun:

Sent to me by my Sis-In-Law, it is fun to type in commands and watch the little guy do tricks. Try things like fetch, roll over, shake and so on- and also kiss. Enjoy.

All Over Again

One day I looked- and it was gone baby gone. I started a blog last summer with Wordpress, but recently it just disappeared. So, here is the new blog. Not as fancy, but it will do just fine.

It has been a difficult year in many ways- and at the same time, an exciting one. I had hoped to have launched my site way before now. Life got in the way.

So, here we go again. Once more with feeling.

I will post updates, pictures, thoughts and even your comments if you have any to share.

Bless us all as we head into Thanksgiving Week. May all of your turkeys be tastey ones.
